On Monday, September 9th, 2019, was held the 14th African Union day celebration and the first anniversary of Daylight Africa within the African Diaspora on the premise of Mercy College in the Bronx New York. The African Union Day Foundation & the African Immigrants’ commission of NY&CT jointly organized. It was an excellent opportunity to celebrate African diversity and honor African Business Leaders who have distinguished themselves through the power of their achievements. Also, this event was to pay tribute to two African soldiers Captain Mbaye Diagne and Private Emmanuel Mensha, who died on the battlefield overseas for their exemplary sacrifices. In this respect, the General Consul of Senegal in New York El Hadji Amadou Ndao received from the hands of Cheikh Musa Drammeh, initiator of Daylight Africa, the extraordinary Award of Captain Mbaye Diagne of Senegal. Tim L Hall, President of Mercy College, welcomed everyone and told the African leaders that his institution is an exceptional American college in New York that desires its students to succeed and give back to the community. The city councilwoman Delia Furgharson, who was the special guest, confirmed her intention to support everyone working hard in the community.

Among the honorees, CEO of AlizéLaVie Alizé Utteryn was honored as an African Business leader for her leadership and dedicated services to the community A big applause and thanks to organizers  specially President of African Immigrants’ Commission of NY&CT,Inc Mory Kouyate for this laudable initiative highlighting the diversity, strength, and unity of the African Diaspora.
