Founder Merveille Aicha Nadege Ouedraogo

Mrs Aicha Merveille Ouédraogo founded this DWEN one year ago in New York. Her idea stemmed from disturbing observations, this included the fear women had when it came to starting a business, lack of means to undertake such a project and the desire to promote female entrepreneurship. In order to bridge the gap, her network aims to achieve three main objectives:  fundraising, training and sharing experiences. The vice-president of the network, Mrs. Hortense Hema from Washington DC, welcomed the presence of participants who came from Burkina Faso, Germany, Texas, Baltimore, Washington DC, Atlanta, New Jersey, and of course New York for their priceless support.

President of African Immigrants ’Commission of New York & CT Mory Kouyate also praised the project and explained the purpose of his organization, which is to encourage Africans to engage in politics. Many organizations representatives involved in entrepreneurship also shared their views and ideations, such as Abdoulaye Diallo of the Business Outreach Center Network who made a presentation detailing how to obtain funding ranging from $ 500 to $ 50,000 to invest in a project.

Honoree Alizé Utteryn
CEO of AlizéLaVie Media

Female and Male entrepreneurs from the Caribbean also spoke. Among them was award-winning international Business consultant and founder of AlizéLaVie Magasine, Alizé Utteryn.

During this amazing Night of Women Entrepreneur celebration many international successful women entrepreneurs in the Diaspora  were recognized for their achievement. They were esteemed with a certificate of honor given by his Excellency, the Chief of Staff of the Burkina Faso President. Needless to say “Diaspora Women Entrepreneurship Network” is an NGO that has the wind in its sails. Without a doubt it will achieve its goal to impose a multinational vision with a promising future.
