In honor of Black History Month,  throughout the month of February , we celebrate accomplishments of African Americans throughout history. Today the editor’s pick is WEB DuBois who was one of the greatest mind of the last 2 centuries. He was the first African American to receive a  to receive a Ph.D from Harvard University in 1895. By the time he was considered as “an exceedingly bright young man”. His writing and thinking influenced many progressive and socialist thinkers. He was one of the founders of the Niagara Movement which became the NAACP, the first civil rights organizations in American history, committed to fight for the franchise and opposed the mass murder of black Americans by lynch mobs. He died in Ghana where he had taken citizenship after persecution for his political activities by the US government and was working on his final writing, The Encyclopedia Africana. This month we pay tribute to great black minds and their influence on our people and the world. We urge ever people to read Black Reconstruction and Souls of Black Folks 2 classics in black history and philosophy. Du Bois still stands tall in the memory of the people his life affected in the USA and around the world.
