Easter is the day of celebrations. Christians all around the world rejoice this day as it was on Easter that the son of God resurrected after his crucifixion. It is on Easter that the families come together and have a gala time while relishing delectable meals and sweet treats. This year Easter is celebrated on April 4. However, the celebrations are a little different this year due to the coronavirus outbreak. Meeting and enjoying with families is not the same and to be honest, having a family get together seems a little difficult. But the pandemic won’t stop families from enjoying a safe, fun holiday. Easter 2021 History
According to the holy book Bible, the story dates back to 30 AD when Jesus was crucified by Romans at Calvary. After the death of Jesus Christ, his devotees brought him down from the cross and then wrapped him in the linen cloth before laying him in the coffin. It is said that when his disciples went to his grave to mourn on the third day, they found it to be empty. It is believed that angels rolled the tomb’s stone away for Jesus to walk out. This incident made the Christians believed that he is the ‘Son of the God’ who rose from the dead. Ever since then, this day came to be known as Resurrection Sunday. A verse from Bible read, “The Bible says, “We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him” (Romans 6:9).
Easter 2021 Significance
As per Christian belief, the resurrection of Jesus is celebrated as Easter. It is believed that those who choose to worship Jesus attain ‘a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus”. Also, those who follow the Lord will attain salvation. On this day, Christians decorate the house with the egg and even decorates the egg. The egg holds a religious significance as it is a symbol of birth and fertility, that is, Jesus Christ’s resurrection and rebirth.
Celebration of Easter
Easter celebration generally includes Church services followed by an Ester lunch. The festival is celebrated with cutely decorated Easter eggs – that can be both edible and inedible. The use of eggs has a special significance on Easter.Eggs are supposed to symbolize life and birth and on Easter signify the resurrection of Christ from his tomb.Easter bunnies, who deliver Easter eggs to kids are also a popular part of the celebration. However, there is no direct religious connotation of bunnies and Easter. Their use in the festival is said to have come from pagan influences in which bunny symbolizes fertility.
Depending upon which corner of the world you reside, there will be some specific cultural influences that play a part in how the festival is celebrated. This year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, people are having an intimate Easter celebration.
