Co-hosts

During gthis event Mory Kouyate and Alizé had the opportunity to welcome traditional, hip hop artists, dancers, drummers who did wonderful performance and amazing speakers.  There was also an awards ceremony recognizing business leaders, community leaders, and young leaders. Those who truly have worked relentlessly for the community while making a difference.

This outstanding initiative was organized by the African Immigrants Commission of New York and Connecticut (AIC), a community-based organization that advocates for important community issues of concern. It promotes the arts and culture of the African immigrant community in New York and Connecticut. Moreover, it encourages unity among people of different races, creeds, and ethnicities. So the African Heritage Month Parade, a free annual cultural event, is an unique opportunity to recognize and celebrate the efforts of members of the African Diaspora who have distinguished themselves through the power of their talents and achievements.

African Heritage Month Parade and Festival is also an opportunity to reward personalities. Dozens of leading figures were awarded for their work toward African community. Indeed, the hosts honored for example the film maker named Roseline Gnapi from Ivory Coast who has served her community and promoted African culture through her movies and many others leaders.. In the future this event has also the ambition to be known even more in the American market and become a must see as years go by. The list of honorees revealed a diversity of profile including community leaders, business leaders and journalists. Most of them received citations from the city of New York, AIC NYC & CT organization in an official and solemn moment.

Thanks to African Immigrants Commission of NY a.nd Ct for their commitment to continue to glorify the African Diaspora. Merci Beaucoup!

See you next year for another outstanding and bigger celebration of African Heritage Month Parade And Festival.
